University libraries

The University library Professorat Éducation of the Grenoble academy (Isère, Drôme-Ardèche, Savoie, Haute-Savoie) contain a wealth of children's literature in their teaching and educational collections.

Today, these University library are the only ones in the university landscape to have such collections. They have taken over from the libraries of the Ecole Normale and the IUFM.
These collections total over 12,000 titles in children's literature alone. They include albums, novels, fairy tales, documentaries, course specimens for students and teachers, as well as specialist works for researchers.

Children's literature is included in the curriculum for future teachers. Children's literature workshops are held every week at BUPE Grenoble. In addition, an application has just been submitted to the Ministry for the labeling of the heritage collections of the former teacher training college libraries of the Grenoble Academy, of which children's literature represents a third of the collections.
