University libraries

Among UGA's specialized collections, the most notable include those in physics, Italian studies, medicine and pharmacy, and life and earth sciences.

Overview of the Call for Proposals Framework

The grant amounts to 1,000 euros per week for a period of up to five weeks and is intended to cover all research-related expenses, as well as travel and accommodation costs. It will be paid directly to the recipient.
Two scholarships will be awarded.

In addition to the scholarship itself, the library will also provide:
- a workspace in the library;
- a library assistant who will assist and guide the researcher throughout their visit.

The visit to the library must take place before the end of 2026.
The recipient will be asked to submit a summary research report demonstrating the value of the funds provided by the libraries.

Application Guidelines

The scholarship is open to faculty members, researchers, or doctoral students enrolled at a foreign university or at a French university other than UGA.

The scholarship application must include the following, in French or English:
- a cover letter;
- a resume;
- a research proposal (no more than 3 pages) explaining how the Library’s resources, funds, or special collections will be used during the visit;
- two letters of recommendation.

The application deadline is noon on June 8, 2026.

The selection committee consists of the director, the assistant director, and the director of research support services at the university library. The committee will review the applications and recommend the selected candidates to the vice president for international relations. The committee will contact the selected candidates by mid-July.
